If you add a muzzle attachment(comp, muzzle brake, flash hider) you would add (1) more part. So, you would need (5) US made parts to stay at ten parts. In present configuration it has (14) defined parts(if you are using foreign mags), you would be going to (15). Going from thumbhole to a 'standard' design you would be adding (1) part(the pistol grip). You would need to find enough US made parts to be 922(r) compliant to be legally able to change that thumbhole.ĭont rely on the magazine parts if you can avoid it.if you don't change enough of the others, and relied on the magazines - the moment you used a foreign made mag you would be in violation. They started doing the slant cut to hamper changing the thumbhole out with OEM/aftermarket furniture.
